What Users Like About Infix

We have noticed a lot of comments from users of the Infix PDF software.  So, I thought it would be good to collect some of the best and present them here

I didn’t need to read the manual.

My comment: No one likes to read manuals and any program hat presents an intuitive user interface has a plus in my book.  Yes, manuals may be helpful in understanding some of the more esoteric and finer points in any software package, but a user should be able to exercise all the common functions without much help.

Installation was easy and problem-free.

Infix is easy and fun to use.

It is easy to make all changes in the PDF.

Works just like Word.

It is nice to have a word processor in PDF format.

The learning curve was not what was expected and was very short.

This program saved hours that used to be spent trying to manipulate word docs to get the desired PDF results.

When modifying PDF content time was “radically reduced” in maintaining the original layout.

Output options interfaces well with CAT tools such as Across and Trados.

I was able to edit PDF files that other editors were not able to do.

My comment: I can agree with all of the above comments except the “fun” part.  However, I can get to the “fun part” faster when I am able to reduce the amount of effort and leave work early.

The tools are easy to find.

Toolbar is not cluttered and is easy to understand.

The menus are intuitive.

Menus are very ergonomic.

Navigation through the program is straightforward and effortless.

Page navigation is natural.

My comment: Tools are always good!

Great for acquiring text from PDF files.

Easy to convert a PDF to XML, modify and convert back into a PDF file.

Tagged XML creation facilitates some translation methods.

Translation of manuals into different languages while keeping the same look, feel and layout works quite well.

Using Infix to work with forms saves a lot of time.

Adjusting the margins is a snap.

Changing size is a great help for web publishing.

It is easy to improve the look and feel of older documents.

Infix makes tasks in the legal business easier.

Font substitution is not a problem when changing the look of a PDF.

My comment: It seems like people are always coming up with new uses!

Adobe Acrobat was too expensive and Infix was affordable.

Iceni offers an easy way to get a free license.

My comment: Start your own blog or web site and place the Infix logo and link on a prominent place.

Wow that was odd. I just wrote an extremely long comment but after I clicked submit my comment didn’t show up.
Grrrr… well I’m not writing all that over again. Anyway, just wanted to say excellent blog!
