Multiple Problems Seen in Adobe Reader and Acrobat 10.1.2

If you have some strange problems with missing buttons or print problems, you might want to check your version of Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

The popular PDF software v10.1.2 has some notable problems.

Here is how to check your version.  Go to Help and select About Adobe Acrobat 10 or About Adobe Reader 10 from the drop-down menu.  A box will pop up and display the version of your Adobe program.  If it shows v10.1.2, you may see some problems.

It appears that Adobe didn’t think there were many low resolution computer systems currently in use or maybe they simply forgot to take screen resolution into consideration in v10.1.2.  The Print button is “missing” from the print dialog box.

It is not really missing but is merely hiding.  You can see it by scrolling down in the print dialog box.  There is a scroll bar you can drag on the right side.

Users of Adobe Reader v10.1.2 have reported printer problems.  Sometimes the PDF file will just fail to print.  Other times the Adobe reader will crash and burn.  Restarting the Adobe program may allow you to print the document, but intermittent crashes are very annoying.

You can fix all of these problems by updating to v10.1.3, as this version fixes these bugs and a few more.  Updating is easy and the update is FREE!

Go to Help and select Check for Updates from the drop-down menu box.  Follow the instructions for performing the update.  Don’t be surprised if you are asked to restart your system, so be prepared by shutting down all applications except the Adobe Reader of Acrobat before performing the update.
