What is PDF Editing Software?

PDF is a format which is designed and distributed by Adobe and which enables documents and files to be seen in their full form no matter who the sender or receiver is and irrespective of the system they are reading it on.

Given the huge amount of choice on the market for computer hardware, from PCs and Macs to Smartphones and IPads, it is little wonder that the PDF file and format along with the Adobe Acrobat programme required to create files has never been in higher demand.

Without this software it is not possible for a document which is password protected to be changed by anyone other than the original author, or a person who has access to their password.

Many companies choose to use PDF editing software on the basis that it is fast, efficient and will save them the time and resources. This time would otherwise be spent on redrafting and reformatting documents in order to make them readable or to so that they can be pieced together for printing.

It goes without saying that the products are as varied as the manufacturers themselves, so whilst some PDF editing software will have the benefit of giving the user the ability to edit their files and documents as though they were using a Word program, others might pride themselves on the additional security measures they can introduce at the time of editing meaning that a user further down the chain would not be unable to edit, alter or interfere with the document.

Free Downloads

As expected of many software types which are available on the open market, there are also many free downloads of PDF editing software available. Whilst there is no doubt that some or many of these may be genuine and in addition can provide a user with the desired result, there are sadly also many which not only fail to perform the required task but actually will do more harm than good; adding viruses, potentially wiping data and encrypting, leaving documents in an unusable state.  There are many forums on the internet designed to provide reviews of this free PDF editing software but as with the actual software itself, how much of the data and reviews are genuine and how many have been posted by the manufacturers of the products can never truly be measured.

Experts in PDF editing software and software in general maintain that users should exercise caution prior to using any product, free or otherwise which is not fully understood and for which guarantees of quality are unable to be attained.
