Can You Just Edit This For Me?

Imagine the scenario, its Monday morning, 9:05am. You’ve just got your coffee ready and your PC is ready to log onto. Your manager has a meeting at 09:30am and is sat on the desk opposite when he realises that there’s a mistake on one of his documents that he needs to present on. The question, “can you just quickly edit this for me?” is inevitable and the solution is easy, “email it over, I’ll edit it and send it back, what needs changing?” The whole process has been done countless times before and the 25 minute time limit is a breeze. Before you know it the email is in your inbox with the document attached. 9am_meeting.PDF.

By double clicking the attachment, the document automatically opens and you can quickly identify the issue, the date at several points on the document states 2010. All of these need to be updated to 2011. However, there’s a small problem. No matter what you do you can’t seem to change anything on the document. The time is now 09:15am. You’ve clicked, highlighted, typed and the document remains unchanged. You’ve even tried to copy and paste the contents into a word document but when you do all of the tables and images are all over the place and the formatting has gone all funny. Bar re-typing the entire thing what can you do? A quick glance shows you there are over 40 pages and even retyping it would be impossible in the time frame. You know the meeting will be a disaster if your organisation is seen to be presenting on last year’s material and you can’t let down your boss. What can you do?

Sympathies to anyone that has ever been in a similar situation but in fact it really isn’t all that uncommon. PDFs are designed with basic formatting protection in mind so that they don’t alter in their display, regardless of what device is used to open them. Unfortunately, this also means that by default, a PDF cannot be altered. The quickest solution to your problem is to look online for a PDF editor in order to get your document quickly updated.

The best PDF editors allow you to open PDFs, edit the documents, replace text, alter spellings and change the images all as easy as if you were trying to make changes in a word document. If you urgently require those dates changing from 2010 to 2011, a PDF editor will allow you to do so quickly and easily. No panic, hassle free. Your best bet is to open up internet explorer or another web browser of choice, go to your favourite search engine provider and type PDF editor or edit PDF software. Your choice of keywords should soon provide you with a multitude of offers for PDF editors.

It is recommended to look for PDF editor providers which can offer a free trial. A fast free trial download should allow you to make the changes required to the PDF file that you have and test the product simultaneously. Should the PDF editor be easy to use and do the job required, it is well worth paying for the full product to ensure that no last minute PDF editing requests can catch you off guard again in the future.
