Argus comes with a variety of example configurations covering most of the capabilities of the software. Useful in their own right they also serve as a convenient starting point for creating your own configurations.

Argus Image Extraction Sample Configurations

Argus TIFF Image Extraction Sample Configuration

Config File

  • imageConfigs/tiff.cfg
    Extracts images from the PDF and saves each image as an individual TIFF file. No scaling or sub-sampling is done. Vector images are not included in the output.

Command Line

  • argus -c imageConfigs/tiff.cfg romeo1-3.pdf

Important Config Values

  • [Argus Controls]
    Image Path - defines the directory path and filename for the output images
  • [DOCUMENT FEATURES]
    Illustrations - controls whether vector graphics (graphs, charts, etc) are included in the output
  • [IMAGE STYLE]
    Color Format - Bitmap | Dithered | Grey | RGB | CMYK
    YScale, XScale, Scale Mode - scaling of the output image
