
Argus comes with a variety of example configurations covering most of the capabilities of the software. Useful in their own right they also serve as a convenient starting point for creating your own configurations.
Argus JPEG Image Extraction Sample Configuration
Config File
- imageConfigs/jpeg.cfg
Extracts images from the PDF and saves each image as an individual JPEG file. No scaling or sub-sampling is done. Vector images are not included in the output. An Image Quality value of 75% is used (relatively good quality, relatively low compression).
Command Line
- argus -c imageConfigs/jpeg.cfg romeo1-3.pdf
Sample Data
- Input file romeo1-3.pdf
- Output files JPEG images
Important Config Values
- [Argus Controls]
Image Path - defines the directory path and filename for the output images
- [DOCUMENT FEATURES]
Illustrations - controls whether vector graphics (graphs, charts, etc) are included in the output - [IMAGE STYLE]
Image Quality - quality of JPEG images; inversely proportional to compression level
Color Format - Bitmap | Dithered | Grey | RGB | CMYK
YScale, XScale, Scale Mode - scaling of the output image
