Argus comes with a variety of example configurations covering most of the capabilities of the software. Useful in their own right they also serve as a convenient starting point for creating your own configurations.
Argus RTF Layout Sample Configuration
Config File
- rtfConfigs/layout.cfg
Converts PDF into RTF readable by Microsoft Word and other word processors. Original page layout is retained as far as possible using advanced features of RTF. Images are not embedded in the RTF. All pages are written to the same file called <filename>.rtf in the “docs” folder (where <filename> is the name of the original document). Text is reflowed and words split because of line-wrap in the original document are de-hyphenated.
Command Line
- argus -c rtfConfigs/layout.cfg UserGuide.pdf
Sample Data
- Input file UserGuide.pdf
- Output files UserGuide.rtf
Important Config Values
- [Argus Controls]
Text Path - defines the directory path, filename and whether there will be a single file or a file per page for the output text
Image Path - defines the directory path and filename for the output images
Image Output - controls whether images are included in the output or not
See Argus reference manual for complete config value descriptions.
