
Argus comes with a variety of example configurations covering most of the capabilities of the software. Useful in their own right they also serve as a convenient starting point for creating your own configurations.
Argus Page Thumbnails Sample Configuration
Config File
- imageConfigs/pageThumbnails.cfg
This config produces JPEG page thumbnails to fit in a 100x150 box ("Scale Mode=Max", "XScale=100", "YScale=150"). The "Full Page Render Zone" flag activated which means Argus will render each page rather than extracting the text from it.
Command Line
- argus -c imageConfigs/pageThumbnails.cfg grips.pdf

Important Config Values
- [Argus Controls]
Image Path - defines the directory path and filename for the output images
- [IMAGE STYLE]
Image Quality - compression level used when writing JPEG files
File Format - Tiff | TiffM | PNG | BMP | JPEG
Color Format - Bitmap | Dithered | Grey | RGB | CMYK
YScale, XScale, Scale Mode - scaling of the output image
Greek Limit - Text whose size is less than the supplied limit will appear as a grey box
